Our Stock of Stainless Steel

For stainless steel, Coventry will find all it needs at Rapid Metals. We supply the three most commonly-used general purpose grades of stainless steel – 303, 304 and 316 – in a wide selection of forms.

Grade 303 stainless steel is especially machinable and tough. While it is not as corrosion-resistant as many other grades, it is far superior in this regard to mild steel. It resists heavy rusting, pitting and seizure, making it ideal for making fastenings such as nuts and bolts, precision gears and rotating mechanical parts with low stress requirements.

The most used stainless steel worldwide is Grade 304. With adequate machineability and good weldability, this is an ideal material for stainless steel fabrication. Coventry businesses and industries can use Grade 304 for many other purposes, such as kitchen equipment, food preparation machinery and medical environments.

Grade 316 stainless steel has exceptional corrosion resistance, thanks to the addition of molybdenum.
